Ashley Jones has worked for over 35 years in the media and communication industry including television, radio and newspaper. His work has included producing, directing and writing for visual productions, including a number of projects for multi-media development projects. He has also produced a number of outdoor and indoor major events. He has worked as a radio and press journalist and presenter on both radio and television. He was Queensland Manager for LocalVision on Optus Television and was part of the team pioneering pay TV in Australia. He has lectured in screen production at TAFE, Griffith University and is currently working at the University of Southern Queensland.
After completing a Master of Arts in media production, Ashley undertook a PhD through the University of Southern Queensland in the Faculty of Business, Education, Arts and Law, through the School of Arts and Communication. He is a lecturer in Television and Radio Broadcast at USQ, writes a weekly newspaper column and presents a one hour radio show, Talking Queensland, across regional Queensland.
